🎥 Meet Maureen McEvoy

Why do so many relationship therapists get stuck — even with good therapy training?
In this short video, Maureen shares what’s often missing when trauma appears in relationships and why therapists need new approaches. Lovely to hear the interweaves of somatic, parts work, and creative arts therapy’s usefulness. This is gold!

Why Couples Therapists need this workshop now

Couples clients are arriving in our rooms carrying trauma, attachment wounds, and relational disconnection. Traditional talk therapy isn’t always enough.

  • Stuck sessions that go in circles
  • Uncertainty about managing escalation safely
  • Burnout from holding heavy trauma stories
  • Isolation in private practice without a team to lean on
  • Pressure to stay current with CPD and best practice

This workshop is designed to meet our client needs and ours too– head-on.

This is not a couples’ workshop. This is clinicians’ only professional development program to keep Australian and New Zealand relationship therapists up with the latest in relational work for safe practice. A must for everyone who’s follows a code of conduct and wants an ethical private practice.

What you’ll learn: the Trauma‑Informed Couples Framework

  1. Regulate – calm the nervous system in moments of escalation
  2. Relate – create safe connection when withdrawal or distance arises
  3. Repair – move beyond rupture into lasting reconnection

This framework draws on trauma‑informed, attachment‑based, and parts work approaches such as Resource Therapy, creative arts, somatic and body-based bottom-up approaches, when cognitive therapy fails to give you a practical roadmap for couples therapy.

What you’ll take home

  • Concrete tools that move couples beyond stuck dialogue
  • Confidence in managing escalation without retraumatisation
  • Integration of Imago, EFT, Gottman, PACT, Somatic Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, and Resource Therapy (parts work)
  • Renewal of your energy and passion for clinical work
  • Connection with like‑minded colleagues who “get it”
  • 12 CPD hours across APS, PACFA, AASW, ACA, ASCH, AAPI
